Cosy Season is Here: What to Wear

We don’t know about you, but autumn is one of our favourite seasons. We’re not sure if it’s the changing colours of the leaves, the fun activities or the pumpkin spiced lattes, but suffice to say we’re a fan of it all.

Whether you want to go apple picking or lounge at home in front of the fireplace, get your wardrobe prepped this cosy season with these five stylish outfit ideas.

Blazer and Trousers

There’s a reason blazers show up so often on ‘what to wear’ lists. They’re just that versatile! They’re also long-sleeved without being too heavy, perfect for the ever-changing weather of autumn.

Pair a plain blazer with sleek trousers and loafers for a look that’s well suited to the office. For a more casual autumn outfit that says lunch date with friends, reach for jeans and ankle boots instead. Whatever your style, don’t forget a tucked-in Breton striped shirt to add visual interest to your outfit.

Trench Coat and Jumper

A neutral-coloured trench coat makes for an elegant wardrobe piece, particularly during the chillier autumn months. Wear a trench over a similarly coloured jumper for some monochrome magic. Or, if you want to add some stylish flair, pick a jumper with an eye-catching pattern. Stripes, perhaps?

Personally, we think the Breton ‘No Sweat’ sweatshirt looks rather dashing when worn with a trench coat and dark coloured loafers.

Chunky Knit and Dark Trousers

If you don’t already own a chunky knit jumper, now’s the time to add one to your wardrobe. This super cosy wardrobe piece is wonderful from autumn all the way into winter.

Wear a warm coloured knit—think: orange, yellow or cream—over dark trousers or black jeans, then throw in ankle boots or even cowboy boots for the perfect comfy autumn fit.

Black Top and Suede Skirt

To us, suede skirts are the quintessential autumn wardrobe staple. We love the combination of a plain black top and a knee-length brown suede skirt. It’s a simple ensemble that works so well, but if you want even more style (and some protection against the cold), you can add sheer black tights to your look.

Think a plain black shirt is too boring? You can go for a dark striped top instead.

Long-Sleeved Top, Jeans and Trainers

When in doubt about what to wear to a casual autumn outing, opt for the tried-and-true trio of top, jeans and trainers. This combination never gets old! We especially love the way straight blue jeans look with white trainers.

A long-sleeved top, especially one made from lightweight material, is a great option for the transitional weather of early autumn. A long-sleeved Breton striped shirt will look casual yet chic when worn with your choice of jeans and trainers.

With these five comfy outfit ideas, you’ll be more than ready to tackle the upcoming autumn season in style. Before you go, browse our full collection of Breton striped shirts, jumpers, accessories and more here.
