Where to Wear Your Breton Shirt: The Festive Edition

A Breton shirt can be styled for any festive occasion, be it a day out with friends or a Boxing Day pub lunch. In our latest blog post, we share with you when – and how – to wear your Breton shirt over the winter months. Read on…

Christmas Day with Family

Forget your well-worn, knitted Christmas jumper; that’s so last year. And the year before that. Start your own festive, sartorial tradition by donning a Breton shirt on December 25.

Choose between red and white, or green and white; when it comes to Christmassy colourways, you’ll find it hard to pick your favourite. So, if you’re feeling flush this festive season, why not opt for both.

Once you’ve made your selection, pair it with a statement necklace or a huge pair of earrings and voila…you’ll be ready to celebrater the season in style.

Boxing Day Pub Lunch

Off for a brisk walk, followed by a Boxing Day pub lunch? This is where your Breton shirt will really come in handy. It’s comfy and cosy enough for that walk, but just about dressed up enough for a festive afternoon down your local.

How about the Nautique? A navy-based Breton shirt, it not only looks stunning but also feels so comfortable we can (apart from the occasional wash!) guarantee you won’t want to take it off.

Made from 100% knitted, soft unbleached cotton, it’s so comfortable it’s addictive.

The Christmas/New Year Lull

What to wear on those ‘non’ days between Christmas and New Year? That drawn out period when you’ve no plans but to lounge in front of the TV with your favourite slippers on and a huge box of chocolates by your side.

This time of year calls for our Breton Hoodie. With a cool, dark navy base contrasted with clean crisp sharp white stripes, it’s been pre-washed for superior softness.

Made to a square cut fit, as with all our nautical shirts, it’ll see you through winter and beyond.

Post-work Drinks

So, the vote is in – and your colleagues have decided against an official Christmas party this year, in favour of a few post-work cocktails. What to wear for such an occasion, though? Your sparkly, festive dress might a tad too much, but jeans and a jumper – nah, it’s Christmas…right?

So, take Casual Friday up a notch by livening up those go-to jeans with a smart Breton shirt. Add a blazer and a slick of red lipstick and you’re ready for those drinks. Non lippy wearers can swerve the statement lip and stick to the blazer and Breton combo only. The only combo you need, really.

We love the Breton Noir, a black-based, classic square cut Breton shirt bit with cool, crisp white stripes – ideal for those drinks and anything and everything in between this Christmas.

Until next time…
